HR Assistant [ Job ID# 7 ]

Description: TITLE: HR Assistant @ Progress Foundation ACCOUNTABILITY: Human Resources Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager the HR Assistant is responsible for assisting with: Creation of employee packets including all new hire packets for union and non-union employees and benefits packets Manage the birthday club and Milestone gifts Review step increase and prepare monthly list for HR Manager Responsible for filing of all HR related documents Assist with distributing and reviewing all new hire documents. Create Personnel Files. Assist with answering phone, and act as receptionist when receptionist is out Assist the HR Generalist as needed Assist with payroll process as needed Respond to inquiries from staff and management. Monitor personnel files and maintain human resources database. Comply with all agency policies and procedures, including the Code of Ethics, and all relevant labor laws and regulations. Set up training and meetings as needed including ordering and pick up of food for trainings as needed Perform other related duties as relevant to Human Resources and as assigned by the Human Resources Manager.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum 3 years' experience as a HR Assistant, HR Specialist or HR Generalist At least 2 years' experience using any HR portal or Paycom system Experience in a union environment preferred Must have strong organizational and administrative skills along with effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills. Must demonstrate an acceptable level of maturity, good judgment and emotional stability. Serve as a role model for positive employee relations. A collaborative and flexible style with a strong service mentality. Demonstrated commitment to the Progress Foundation mission including the ability to promote and communicate the philosophy, mission and values of the agency to external and internal stakeholders. Must be able to negotiate several flights of stairs during each work shift. Valid California driver's license, car, and insurability under the agency's auto insurance policy required.
